The ukrainian bridal custom is often a colorful affair filled with music and dancing. After the festival, Ukrainians frequently engage in mild- hearted pranks like stealing the princess’s foot or challenging each other to show their love and devotion, adding an element of humor and camaraderie to their celebration.

The bride and groom normally receive riches from their families and godparents before the marriage. This is a custom known as Blahoslovenya and may happen at the princess’s or groom’s home. During this tradition, the couple is presented with metaphoric gifts for as bride bread known as Korovai and spiritual icons.

During the ceremony, the partners may commonly stage on a conventional embellished cloth referred to as’ Rushnyk’. This is a symbol of cleanliness and hope for the future and is believed to link the partners with their predecessors. Tradition dictates that whoever steps on the rushnyk earliest does be considered the strong partner in the matrimony!

The kids of the handful likely therefore present a toast to the partners, wishing them wellbeing, delight, and wealth. The pair does then repeat their commitments. Unlike in most American festivities, the father of the bride does not walk her down the aisle but rather the pair enter collectively as inclined equal companions. Afterwards, crowns are placed on the couple’s heads to symbolize their royalty as King and queen of their new family.
